The Samsung LA46A950 is without a doubt the best LCD television we’ve seen up until this point and proof that the technology has some fire left in it yet. Design of the samsung la46a950Television design has been getting a little silly of late, what with the LG Scarlet’s “love hole” and the Sony ZX1’s wall-mount bracket in a fetching, scratchy piano-black that no-one will ever see, samsung ua40b7100 so it’s refreshing to find a TV as understated as Samsung’s Series 9. After all, people visit the Louvre for the pictures, not the frames. But that’s not to say that design has come last in the construction of this TV it’s actually quite a stunner, with a faux-carbon fibre finish and a clear plastic trim. While it’s not as slim as the Series 8, it’s certainly sturdier with a solid, non-swivelling glass stand. Our only gripe is with the on-board controls, they are impossible to see under most lighting conditions. Unless you have a light shining directly on them which is a no-no for television viewing you won’t be able to find them. They are of the capacitive type, but will light up when you … erm, rub the area.

Perhaps you have an idea for a job that doesn’t readily exist but one that you’d like to create. Suppose you have a master’s degree in history with plenty of experience doing researchsomething you enjoy. The Palm Pre launched on June 6th but there are still shortages in stores. New shipments come in each week and customers are on waiting lists to get one. Palm says that they have been unaffected by the Apple 3GS that has recently sold over a million phones, and that the Pre is a success. The WebOS is drawing more and more developers and it will be very interesting to see what new apps come out in the coming months. Currently the best apps are the Pandora app and the Craig’s List app. More accessories and an extended battery are expected in July. If you cannot get a Pre you may find one on Craig’s List or eBay.
